HSR is designed for automatic, contactless inspection of people to detect metal and non-metal objects hidden under clothing or in backpacks. It analyzes these objects' physical properties to identify potential threats, including various types of explosive devices (EDs) or improvised explosive devices (IEDs) with metallic or non-metallic parts. HSR can also detect metal weapons, such as knives or firearms.

HSR can inspect up to 5 moving people simultaneously within the inspection zone (referred to as targets). Its main features include:

HSR may trigger an alarm when it detects objects that resemble explosive devices based on their shape or physical properties. These alerts are not considered false alarms.

Sometimes, the system may alert on harmless objects that look similar to threats. Such alerts are intentional and not false positives.
