HSR.4B INSPECTION ZONE AND CONFIGURATIONS

HSR.4B INSPECTION ZONE AND CONFIGURATIONS

The inspection zone is the area where a person must walk straight through the HSR system. The system starts scanning when the person enters and finishes when they leave the zone.

There are two setup options depending on how people move:

1. Unidirectional Flow (Portal)
  • People move in one direction.

  • Best for checking the front of the body and backpacks

  • If a person moves the wrong way, the system mainly sees their back, which lowers the inspection quality.

  • Recommended for most standard locations.

Portal configuration (unidirectional flow)

2. Two-directional Flow (Back-to-Back)
  • People can move in both directions.

  • The system checks both sides of each person.

  • Works well in places with high security needs or terrorist threat.

  • Recommended for maximum inspection efficiency

Back-to-Back configuration (two-directional flow)

Notes
To make inspection more effective, it’s advised to guide people clearly through the zone, using tape barriers or similar structures. Barrier placement must be approved by APSTEC technical support.
